Last night was a late night after watching the new Star Wars Fireworks display called Symphony in the Stars: A Galactic Spectacular at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. And when the alarm clock woke us up at 7:00am we had a difficult time getting out of bed, but we knew we had to. So….. we got up and got moving.
Today was check out and travel day. And as you may… or may not know, it’s also the day you get your statement from Disney letting you know how well your Magic Band performed buying food, drinks, souvenirs and such. I’ve heard some people have gotten ill just by seeing this statement. For those of you who don’t understand, let me explain how this works.
Disney has created this system that allows you to pay for everything you need to pay for with a bracelet called a Magic Band. They give them to you free of charge and they serve as not only a way to pay but you also use it to unlock your resort room and use the Fast Pass system. It’s easy to use and it’s extremely efficient. But you can spend more money than you might spend if you were paying with cash.
We got ours this morning and it said our credit card was charged a whopping total of…….. $49.42. Yep….. you are reading that right…… $49.42!
How did you spend six days at Walt Disney World and only pay $49.42, you ask? Yesterday afternoon we stopped by the Concierge at Saratoga Springs Resort and used some of our Disney gift cards to pay the bill down to that but we did spend less than $400.00 during this trip.
After our breakfast in our villa it was time to checkout. We each use a backpack for our carry on and we only had one checked bag each so it was a snap to check out. We took our two checked bags to the airlines desk at our resort and received our boarding passes. Then we took our carry on bags to bell service to hold for us and hopped on a bus for the Magic Kingdom.
When we arrived we noticed a larger crowd than we’ve seen all week. We went directly to Buzz Lightyear’s Ranger Spin and helped fight Zorg. We noticed the new addition to Buzz right next to him as you enter the ride vehicles.
Then we leisurely walked towards the Jungle Cruise for our Fast Pass. We enjoyed the Tiki Room after that. As we walked past Pirates of the Caribbean, there were Pirates all over the place.
We decided it was time for a train ride around the park and we enjoyed it. But then reality set in….. it was time to leave! But we got one last picture of the Castle from the Train Station.
As we walked under the station and headed to the exit we found a Photo Pass Photographer waiting to take our photo in front of the Magic Kingdom and we’re surprised when Tinker Bell stopped by to say goodbye.
She made us promise to return and it’s a promise we intend to keep. We are 119 days from returning for a stay at the Boardwalk Villas.
We boarded the bus to Saratoga Springs and once again enjoyed the ride. While waiting for the Magical Express Bus, we shared a sausage and pepper flat bread and a Diet Coke.
Our bus pulled up and we got on for the forty minute ride to the airport. It’s needless to say that we were not happy!
We arrived at the airport and made it through the security check easily, found our departure gate and we’re airborne on schedule.
We arrived in Rochester, New York to 30 degree weather but it was great to walk through our door. We are home!
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about our trip and seeing our pictures. I will return with one last recap of our trip in a couple of days. If you’d like me to help plan your next trip, contact me and we will work together to make sure your family has the best Disney vacation ever at a price you can afford.
Remember……. it won’t cost you any extra for using my experience. Disney pays me to plan your trip, not you. That’s a pretty good thing for you!
