Day three…… the Magic Kingdom

Our mornings are very relaxed while on vacation.  We seldom set an alarm clock and today was no different. We awoke with the sun peaking through the curtains and we cuddled for a few extra minutes.

Patti got the coffee maker going and we enjoyed our coffee sitting on the balcony watching golfers come and go in the fairway next to our villa. We took our time knowing we didn’t have a fast pass scheduled until 5:30.

We decided to get ready for our day at the Magic Kingdom and we finally got to the bus stop at about 11:00. But……. something happened to change our plans. While waiting for the bus, I noticed the wait times at Animal Kingdom were pretty short. I also knew, if we went to Animal Kingdom we could have a good lunch at the Flametree BBQ! And then an Animal Kingdom bus pulled up so we decided to get on. We were rewarded with a private coach! Not another soul got on.

When we arrived we went right to it’s Tough to be a Bug. We love this show!

Then we walked over to Harambe and checked out the new Harambe Market. I loved the area and I think it will help with the congestion in this section of the park. image

We also got in to the Festival of the Lion King show and for the first time, we got to sit in the Elephant section.

Then it was on to Flametree BBQ for our lunch. I ordered the half chicken with corn bread and beans, Patti had the Turkey Sandwich with grapes. We shared an order of Onion
Rings. We both had a Diet Coke.

After lunch we decided to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom. We didn’t have to wait long before the bus for the Magic Kingdom pulled up.  So far we’ve had experienced great bus service.

The walk up Main Street should be taken slowly with plenty of looking around and just enjoying the sights, the smells and the sounds, especially if you are a first timer.

Tip……… slow down and take your time. You are on vacation.

On the way up Main Street, USA we ran into the Dapper Danske singing for the crowd.

After their show, we ran into the Main Street Philharmonic Orchestra performing.

We finally made it up to the hub and saw our favorite piece of sculpture, Partners!

We even had our picture taken by a Photo Pass Photographer in front of the Castle!

Today we have fast passes set up for Buzz, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Wishes. They didn’t start until after 5:30. We helped Buzz Lightyear beat Zorg! We rode the People Mover, and then the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

After we came off the Mine Train, we decided to split a large Diet Coke. When the Cast Member gave it to us she said it was on Mickey! We smiled, said thank you and enjoyed this little bit of extra magic.

We walked over to the fast pass area for Wishes and we were let in. We enjoyed the Main Street Electrical Parade from there and we really enjoyed Wishes.

After Wishes was over, we hung around for a while and let the crowd die down and then we walked towards Dumbo and took a ride. We were getting tired and decided to return to our resort. We are sipping some cold adult beverages as we get ready for a good night’s sleep.

We are heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the morning so I better get to bed. Please forgive any typos you might find…….. I’m getting tired and need some sleep.

See you tomorrow with some more fun!
