How We Prepare for a Disney Trip

We are almost ready for our December trip to Walt Disney World to see the Osborne Spectacle of Dancing Lights for one last time. We are almost single digit dancing! Anyone want to dance with us?

I thought if I jotted my thoughts down as we get closer to our trip, it might help some of my new clients that are facing the same thing.

By now our Fast Passes have been booked…… Magic Bands have arrived and we are awaiting our Magical Express baggage tags to arrive which should be any day now.

I think it is taking a little longer for Disney to mail them because we are DVC members, staying on points at Saratoga Springs Resort and waitlisted for Boardwalk Villas until seven days before our trip.

We have only made one dining reservation, The Garden Grill Candlelight Processional package, for 2:00 PM the day we picked to see the show. We don’t eat at a lot of Table Service restaurants while at Walt Disney World because of the high cost but the Garden Grill is one of our favorites.

The dining plan doesn’t fit us very well because we just can’t eat that much food. We also spend only a fraction of the cost of the dining plan as we eat mostly counter service so we don’t have to plan our day around eating.

We have thought of purchasing the Quick Service Dining Plan but it still is about 50% more expensive for what we eat. We like to save our money for other things. I need to buy a couple more character head covers for my golf clubs. (insert big smile here)

We’ve made our Garden Grocer order out and placed it early for the best discount available. We order food for breakfast, lunches, water, Diet Coke, and Budlite to enjoy after the parks while sitting on our patio or balcony. Our bill was less than $100 for this trip.

Now is when we start to watch the weather forecast for the Disney area to decide what mixture of clothes to pack.

I think I’m liking this extended forecast for our trip! We will pack shorts, tee shirts and a light jacket will do. We might even throw in a bathing suit.

Please comment or message me if you have any questions or would like any other information covered while we count down. Only 11 days to go as of 12/3.
