You see….. the executives at Disney decided long ago to provide ground transportation to and from the Orlando International Airport at no extra charge and it’s worked out extremely well. I think it’s an absolutely wonderful service and we use it every time we visit.
When I book our trips I also know that flying from western New York State is a given. We have threatened to drive to Disney but it would take two days on the road going down and about 22 hours driving time. It’s not something I really want to do when I can hop on a non stop flight out of Rochester or Buffalo and be in the Orlando sunshine two and a half hours later.
One of the first things I do after booking our hotel and flights is to set up our Magical Express service. It’s easy to do and we can do it on line with very little hassle.
The information you give Disney is who is flying in and out, the airline and flight number, date/time of arrival and departure for the return trip. Then…… about three weeks before your trip begins you get some Mickey Mail with vouchers and baggage tags for each member of your party.
Put the yellow baggage tags on your checked luggage before you leave home. When you check in for your flight at the airport, leave your checked bags with the airline with the yellow tags attached, you won’t touch them again until they magically appear in your room about three hours after you arrive.
When you arrive in Orlando, just follow these instructions from Disney.
Take the train from your arrival gate to the main terminal. You will be on Level 3. Head to Disney’s Magical Express, located on Side B, Level 1, Ground Transportation.
Guests arriving on Side A of the airport should proceed to Side B before taking the elevator or escalator down to Level 1. If you arrive before 5:00 AM or after 10:00 PM, please collect your luggage at baggage claim on Level 2 and bring it with you to the motorcoach. Your luggage will travel with you on the motorcoach to your Disney Resort Hotel.
Please have your MagicBand easily accessible when you arrive at Disney’s Magical Express. If you have not received your MagicBand, please be prepared to present your Disney’s Magical Express documents instead. If you have a Disney’s Magical Express reservation, but do not have documents, we will assist you upon arrival.
If you are flying into Orlando International Airport from another country, you must claim your luggage after disembarking the plane and follow the U.S. Customs and Border Protection process. After, proceed to Disney’s Magical Express.
You may take your luggage with you on the motorcoach to your Disney Resort hotel or, following U.S. Customs, you may elect to return your luggage to the carousel, where Disney’s Magical Express will reclaim your luggage and deliver it to your Resort hotel room. Your luggage may take up to 3 hours to be delivered to your room after you arrive at your Resort hotel. Guests using the luggage delivery service should be prepared to present their airline baggage numbers at Disney’s Magical Express. If you arrive before 5:00 AM or after 10:00 PM, please bring your luggage with you to Disney’s Magical Express. Your luggage will travel with you on the motorcoach to your Disney Resort Hotel.
It’s that simple!
For departure it’s just as easy…… but not as fun.
Disney provides an easy resort airline check in. We usually fly out after 5:00 PM so we check out of our resort, leave our carry on luggage with bell service, check in for our flights and then enjoy our last day at the park we always start with, the Magic Kingdom. We stay there until we need to be on our bus, about three hours prior to your flight departure. See below for instructions per Disney.

It’s no longer called Magical Express by anyone with lots of Walt Disney World trips…… it’s called Tragical Express! It causes sad facial expressions like the ones on my dear friends face as they leave after their last trip. It makes me sad just looking at their expressions!
I’d love to take care of all your Disney travel needs. I never charge any planning fees. You pay the exact same amount that you’d pay to Disney, but you get my experience and planning services for free.
I get paid by Disney…… and I love getting paid by Mickey!
